Catching Up...
How can we possibly bring you up to speed on the past 4 months?!
I'm ashamed to admit this is a record for us- the longest we've gone without blogging about our sweet Audrey! Perhaps it's because she keeps us SO busy during the day that we can't bear the thought of having to do anything productive in the evenings??
Anyway :), it's hard to know where to start... Since Christmas we've stayed busy with our normal routine- play dates, gymnastics, small group, young life, bible study, church, and somehow we both still manage to work! Jeremy turned 30 on 1/16 - woohoo! We took a last minute trip to central Colorado in February thanks to a free ticket from Southwest and the generosity of some great friends. We also had visitors in our house literally non-stop from 2/28 through 3/25! It was a total blast and poor Audrey was so confused...she'd say goodnight to one person then wake up to a whole new crew. We miss you Grammy, Auntie, Autumn, Owen and Lyddy!! :)
We have watched our sweet baby transform into a little girl right before our eyes. Not only is she growing physically (3 inches taller in one month?!), her little brain is working on overdrive! She has been repeating us for a while now, and thankfully she's forgotten some of the things she's heard. :) She talks non-stop and even says thank you, sorry, and bless you. She's also quite good at mimicking our tones and facial expressions. It's so hard to keep a serious face when we're supposed to! She's also a great helper and loves to sweep (but vacuuming is another story- trauma!).
One day in the life with Audrey these days will usually consist of a combination of the following: reading reading and more reading, counting, dancing, taking off her diaper, singing (ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Are You Sleeping, Tomorrow from Annie, Mary had a little lamb) refusing to get in bed and then refusing to get out, tossing water out of the tub, tossing books, toys, cloths and stuffed animals into the tub (while mommy's back is turned getting the bath ready), emptying the dresser and attempting to change her clothes, climbing onto the kitchen table, terrorizing the kitties, begging for the Wiggles, insisting on eating with the Mickey Mouse fork, and my favorite- asking for "mommy snuggles." All while being ab-so-lute-ly adorable.
The TERRIFIC two's are definitely headed our way. :)

"Bullowing" with Elmo.

Don't let this picture fool you- she's actually not into sharing.

"Owsiiide?"

Audrey's boot phase.

Lots of fun time with Daddy in Colorado!

Sledding = pure happiness.

Having fun in the snow!

I love this sequence of pictures...
We visited the National Mining Museum in Leadville and
stopped to pose for a pic with this stuffed guy on the couch.
Audrey was not digging this situation.

Sunrise on our last morning of the trip.
We almost didn't come home.

Random side entry here-
Check out this beanbag that Nana made for Audrey!
How CUTE is this?!

RODEO!

hehe- I almost didn't include these but it's just another glimpse
into the daily hilarity of our lives.

Our silly, silly girl.

That's Audrey behind the paper, btw. :)
We'll blog soon about the upcoming 2nd birthday festivities! Lots of love to all...

A Few Photos from December...
Happy New Year!
2008 was such a wonderful year for us! Audrey grew and changed so much... Jeremy stayed busy with work and finished the year off working a successful shuttle flight... I kept busy at home with Audrey and doing part-time work for our church... And we are so thankful for another year of health and so many blessings.
2009 has been awesome so far! Life looks pretty much the same for us as last year, although Audrey is changing and doing new things every day. She'll repeat just about anything we say (which we learned the hard way) and her absolute favorite thing to do is color. She calls it "bullowing." It's the first word she says when she wakes up! We also enrolled her in a "Mommy and Me" gymnastics class. We've only been to one class so far but she's already learned how to swing on the trapeze bar and jump on the big trampoline. We'll definitely post about that soon. :)

November Highlights
Figured I'd better squeeze this one in since it's almost 2009!
November was a fun-filled month, starting with a trip home to TN for Audrey and I. My Uncle Fred and Aunt Karen were in town from CA and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to see them! I realized as I sat down to do this post that I don't have a single picture documenting that they were even there...oops.
We LOVED being home and as you'll see in the pictures below, we came at the perfect time to see fall colors. Our hearts ache to be home this time of year!
Your reward for reading all of the way to the bottom is some footage of Audrey going down the slide at the famous pumpkin patch on Signal Mountain. So what if the sign said "for kids age 3+"?! :)
Jeremy survived STS-126 splendidly, I on the other hand barely made it without him. :) We did get to eat Thanksgiving dinner together as a family though, so it was all good in the end!
Before we get to the pictures- a quick update on little miss Audrey! There isn't much that she's not saying these days...her latest favorites are "oh nooo," and "pretty." We went through a short phase where I could leave her unattended, but that is now over as she is climbing on everything. She also loves completely destroying her room (or any room, for that matter) as quickly as possible. Her current record for having every toy, book, diaper, etc. in the floor is about 15 seconds. I must mention, however, that she honestly gets cuter and funnier by the second!

Checking out the "Black Friday" ads. She was looking for
Mickey Mouses and Elmos. She actually found several!

Misfit Thanksgiving 2008.
A few of us (3 couples, 5 kids) without family in Houston got together
and threw down enough food for 25 people. Thanks Reeders and Patmans!

Audrey had a blast at Coolidge park, as always.
